Comic Book Challenge 2007

I read about past events like this last year, when I didn't really feel ready to submit anything that I was working on for serious critique. This year is different, because I really believe in my project 'Last of the Chickenheads', both as a concept, and as a finished product. Here's a little bit more about 'Comic Book Challenge'...And I quote:
Entries need to be received by 11:59pm, Thursday May 31st, 2007.
Please sign our mailing list below to receive all the latest news and announcements as they happen!
Do you think you have what it takes to make a splash in the comic book industry? Then come and take part in Platinum Studios 2007 Comic Book Challenge. 50 top entrants will be chosen by Platinum Studios creative and development staff and invited to San Diego on July 26th, 2007 to pitch their ideas to a celebrity panel of judges. (Last year’s judges included Scott Mitchell Rosenberg (Chairman of Platinum Studios), Marc Silvestri (Founder of Top Cow Productions), Gale Anne Hurd (producer of such films as “The Terminator” and “Aliens”), Oliver Jones (People Magazine), and Chris Marlowe (Hollywood Reporter).
plus the bit I really like:
The public will then decide on its favorite entry, and the public will choose the three finalists.Voting will be cleared and these three finalists will have one more week to campaign for themselves on DrunkDuck. The public will then pick the winner through our voting process!
The winner will be paid to write and/or illustrate their full comic and gets published as a comic or graphic novel.
So, I've submitted 'Last of the Chickenheads', with a one page synopsis, and page 2 of the comic itself (the finished page as a high rez PNG file) and will be following the outcome with interest. No harm in trying, right? Plus I've always wanted to go to the States. :)
